I have finally picked up a pencil again after having my first child. Being a mummy is the best job in the world and it is lovely to be able to have quiet time to draw again. This quiet time is only possible when ‘T’ is asleep!

This piece above is only just getting started but it still amazes me how something so lifelike can emerge from a crisp white sheet of paper. Michelangelo used to say that it was only his job to free the figures slumbering in the stone and that it wasn’t he who put them there:
