I promise that this will be the last blog about the new house. Well, maybe not but I’ll put some more arty farty stuff up next. 🙂 I just had to blog about low ceilings! Our new place has quite low ceilings but they’re not really, really, really low. Just a smidge. It is actually starting to worry me and it turns out that it worries quite a few people. It might be the fact that in our new place the last owners had installed ceiling fans. Maybe that’s what makes us think that they’re low.

Who votes to get rid of the ceiling fans?

Anywhoo, I’ve been thinking about what you can do to your ceilings to make them look higher without too much fuss. The photos above are some funky rooms with low ceilings from Manolo for the Home, My Design Dump, and the tiny bathroom pic is from here. My favourite is the ceiling with the detailed molding but that doesn’t really fit my definition of ‘not too much fuss’. Maybe we’ll go with subtle striped curtains instead. That molding is on my wish list though!
